Doctor Educational background and specialties 

Dr. Nancy Hampel
Graduated from Michigan State University with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1980.  Dr. Hampel is director-owner and Staff Surgeon of Animal Medical Center.  Dr. Hampel is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and is a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon (1991).  She also holds a Master of Science in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois.  Dr. Hampel serves as consulting surgeon to San Diego Wild Animal Park, Mesa College Animal Health.  She has also served as the Medical Director for National Pet Care Centers. Since 1986, Dr. Hampel has been a practicing volunteer veterinarian for the city of El Cajon.
 
Dr. Richard Johnson
Graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1977.  Dr. Johnson is president and owner of Animal Medical Center.  Dr. Johnson has been a Professor at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and San Diego Mesa College (Animal Health Technology Program).  He is also currently a member of the California Veterinary Medical Board (Registered Veterinary Technicians Committee).
 
Dr. Katy Allen
Graduated from University of California, Davis with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1989.  Dr. Allen has special interests in dentistry, pain management, and K9 weight loss in addition to her general medicine practice.

Dr. Elizabeth Benson
Graduated from University of Prince Edward Island, Atlantic Veterinary College in 2005 after completing her Bachelor of Science at the University of New Hampshire. She completed an internship following graduation from veterinary school in Los Angeles at California Animal Hospital Veterinary Specialty Group. Her interests include internal medicine and emergency/critical care.
 
Dr. Erin Castle
Graduated from Ross University with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2004. 
 
Dr. Natasha Clarke
A graduate from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada (2005). Dr. Clarke completed an internship in Los Angeles at the Animal Specialty Group (2006) and her primary interests include surgery and ophthalmology. She is currently a licensed veterinarian in both Canada and California.
 
Dr. Sarah Lane
Joined the professional staff in August 2008.
 
Dr. Dave Naidus
Graduated from Michigan State University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. Dr. Naidus practices general medicine and performs a majority of our spay and neuters averaging more than 1000 a year!
 
Dr. Laura Narjes

Dr. Vidhya Pandi
Graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London England in 2006 with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Pandi has special interests in emergency and internal medicine in addition to her general medicine practice.
 
Dr. Cynthia Redfield
Joined the professional staff in August 2008.
 
Dr. Kristen Van Maele
Graduated from Michigan State University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Dr. Van Maele has special interests in surgery and emergency medicine in addition to her general medicine practice.
 
Dr. Sarah Vineyard
Joined the professional staff in 2008 after having graduated from Western University.
 
Dr. Dustin Zimmer
Graduated from Ross University with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Dr. Zimmer has a Bachelor of Animal Science degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and completed his internship at the University of Illinois. He has special interests in small and large animal surgery in addition to his general medicine practice.
