Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT)

 

Serah Amaral 

Came to Animal Medical Center with experience as a groomer and began working with us in the Client Services Department as a phone operator in 2004.  She enrolled in Professional Veterinary Assistant School in 2005 and subsequently transferred to the Nursing department.  She completed Professional Veterinary Assistant School in May 2007 and received her RVT license in September 2007.

 
Bernardo Basilio 

Began working at Animal Medical Center in 2007 and has been a licensed RVT for many years, "Basil" enjoys emergency veterinary medicine.
 
Caroline (Carrie) Chapman 

Caroline (Carrie) graduated from Western Career College in 2003 and received her RVT license the same year.  She began working at Animal Medical Center in 2007 and is our dental technician.
 
Rashell (Shelly) Dell

Shelly began working as a veterinary technician in 1995 at Broadway Animal Hospital and subsequently moved with Drs. Hampel and Johnson to Animal Medical Center in 2001.  She completed Professional Veterinary Assistant School in May 2007 and received her RVT license in August 2007.
 
Yesenia English 

Yesenia began working at Animal Medical Center in 2005 as a veterinary assistant.  She completed Professional Veterinary Assistant School in May 2007 and received her RVT license in August 2007.
 
Laura Fink 

Has been employed with Animal Medical Center for 20 years and recently received her RVT license in 2007.
 
Stephanie Harnish

Stephanie began working at Animal Medical Center when the temporary facility opened in 2001.  She completed Professional Veterinary Assistant School in May 2007 as the honor graduate (with a final course average above 95%).  She received her RVT license in August 2007.
 
Kim Jones 

Kim began working as a veterinary technician in 1984 at Broadway Animal Hospital and subsequently moved with Drs. Hampel and Johnson to Animal Medical Center in 2001.  She graduated from Mesa College with an Associate of Science degree in Animal Technology in 1984 and received her RVT license in 1985. She has a special interest in surgery and dentistry and also serves as our clinical educator.  Kim's main focus is on medical staff training and development in addition to raising community awareness of veterinary medicine.  Kim serves as our Nursing Department Manager.
 
Tracy Jones

Tracy graduated from Mesa College with an Associate of Science degree in Animal Technology in 1983 and received her RVT license in 1984.  Tracy has special interest in surgery and is a member of Dr. Hampel's surgery team.
 
Chrystal Lucas

Chrystal began working at Animal Medical Center in 2005.  She started as a dog walker in the kennel department and moved to the nursing department in 2006. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from San Diego State University and completed Professional Veterinary Assistant School in May of 2007.  She received her RVT license in July 2007.
 
Mark Manzon 

Mark started working at Animal Medical Center in 2006 as a veterinary assistant.  He holds a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from DeLasalle Araneta University in the Philippines and is a licensed veterinarian there.  Mark currently works as the overnight emergency RVT.  He received his RVT license in June 2007.
 
Charles Riggins

Charles began working at Animal Medical Center in 2005 as a veterinary assistant.  He completed Professional Veterinary Assistant School in May 2007 and received his RVT license in September 2007.
 
Renee Wallis 

Graduated from Mesa College with an Associate of Science Degree in Animal Health Technology in 1998 and received RVT license in 1998. Completed the University of Tennessee Canine rehabilitation certification program (CCRP) in 2005, currently finishing the Canine Rehabilitation Institute Program (CCRT) in Florida. Started working with Drs. Hampel and Johnson in 1997 at Broadway Animal Hospital. Renee is our staff canine rehabilitation practioner and manager of our Physical Rehabilitation department.
 
Sandra Whitmarsh 

Graduated from Mesa College with an Associate of Science degree in Animal Health Technology in 1993 and received her RVT license the same year.  Sandra also holds a Linguistics Bachelor of Arts from University of California, San Diego.  She is a member of the San Diego Veterinary Medical Association. She is a strong pet dental health advocate and enjoys educating pet owners on better dental care for their pets.
